Summer Swimwear Guide

Turning the page on every magazine, searching for Summer's perfect bikini has given me far too many options but all rejected when the bottoms are too baggy or the top is for a larger bust. With holiday season already in full swing, finding the perfect poolside outfit has proved difficult. Therefore, I decided to take matters into my own hands and my year of working for a swimwear brand to offer my tips for the ultimate travel wardrobe.

Let's start with with the petite frame....
One body shape that is displayed across the glossy titles portraying models posing in swimwear that has been stitched to their bodies to give the perception of the perfect fit. Don't be fooled by the slim shape and find swimwear easy to buy. Issues arise almost immediately whether its the bottoms that resemble a full nappy when exiting the pool or the top that makes the term sideboob an understatement. Forget all these with Vix's faultless bikini designed for those with non existent curves and plenty of paisley prints to turn heads on the beach.

If like me you struggle still with the saggy bottom, dare to bare with Eberjey's Coco bottom from their bleached blues collection which creates the illusion of a smaller, pert bottom with the small amount of material. Petite but not body confident? Go for Melissa Odabash's Cover Up which is the perfect transitional travel essential which will take you from the sand to the cocktail bar.

The average size of a British woman is a 14-16 so why should it be so difficult to find swimwear for those attractive curves.  What every woman can get wrong when swimwear shopping is the style of the bikini for their shape. For the plus sized individual, a style with thick straps and cut high on the leg is the perfect go to piece and these styles are my favourite from this season.

Having recently discovered Prism London, I love the defined shapes of their swimwear like this stylish denim number with high waist shorts for those who want to cover stretch marks, wobbly bits or just body conscious. I couldn't not do a swimwear guide and not feature Mara Hoffman whose printed one pieces are lust-worthy. This geometric print has a slimming effect and will you become the centre of attention round the pool. Once those sun rays begin to fade, let Melissa Odabash's strapless dress do the talking while the ties under the bust create a stunning silhouette for post beach glamour.

Those size 10 bottoms fit perfect but the top won't even cover one boob. Sound familiar? The age old problem of having a larger than the average size chest and having to buy separates. although when they don't have the correct sizes in each separate, bikini shopping can become a stressful operation. Through my swimwear experience, these brands have it right on point and their styles look amazing on whilst supporting and enhancing those incredible curves.
My favourite Brazilian beachwear brand ever is vix. From their stunning prints to their sexy shapes, these bikinis have a global following and are the best to flaunt what your mumma gave you.  If these sexy options are too risqué go for Thapelo one piece, cut high on the leg to elongate those pins and cut low on the neck to show off those bosoms. Produced in the ultimate slimming shade, this one piece is perfect for beach chic. Add Eres' emerald green halter dress if you want to hide the top heavy figure and go for a sophist acted evening look.

One woman who has become an icon for those poolside curves is none other than sports Illustrated turned Vogue cover girl, Kate Upton whose shape has us green with envy. Her careful choices of beachwear to enhance what she's already got but staying sophisticated rather than slutty is no easy mean feat. Stick to halter straps or sweetheart necklines if you decide to go strapless. This one piece by heidi klein is a great option and black is the go to colour for accessorising with gold accents for a luxe look.

Don't shy away from the bikini though, heidi klein has got that covered too, gold accents included with this illusion print two piece. Think straps which are adjustable both top and bottom for personalised coverage is a great idea and I adore this striped digital print. It offers the perfect excuse to splurge on this missoni kaftan with fringing from the waist down and vertical woven prints handmade in Italy. A touch of luxury for when all that sunbathing gets too tiring.

So whether you're packing for a coastal trip to Capri or or testing the the Michelin star dining in Monte Carlo, pop open the bubbly and don't be ashamed to gorge into a greasy burger this holiday season.

If your body shape has been missed out comment below and i will find the best bikini for you
