Ultimate Summer Guide: Health

In the final part of my ultimate summer guide series, I thought it fitting to give it an Olympic theme. Today marks the 1st anniversary of London 2012.
British flags on every nook & cranny of the capital were being waved, people smiling on the tube and never once during late summer did anyone lose the Olympic spirit.

The world watched as Team GB marched up the medals table and tears were shed watching athletes stand on the podium to watching them crumble in front of the world's media.
Watching every day and night from big screens in London, to sitting in the back office at work seeing Tom Daley squeeze into the final was amazing to be part of.
One sport that stuck with me since the Olympics was the track cycling team who had all of us including royalty on the edge of their seats whilst a Mexican wave flowed through the arena. Seeing the heartbreak, the success and the jubilation was all part of the drama that played out in the velodrome a year ago so when I was invited to interview Team GB Jessica Varnish, I was ready with the Boris bike to scoot down to The Dukes Hotel in Mayfair to talk everything health.

Good luck Jess at your future competitions and hope to see you next year in Glasgow to take Gold

Happy Anniversary London 2012

Ulitmate Summer Guide: Hair

The heatwave is beginning to fade, but those hair nightmares have only just begun. Humid temperatures and sweaty tube journeys have made any type of hair scream for an appointment at the salon. Ends feel like they're never going to stop splitting and colour fades as quickly as a space to sunbathe in the park.
So when I got the chance to interview Charles Worthington's hair stylist I couldn't wait to fire all my hair problems at him.

After some great advice I tried & tested summer hair products and here are my favourites.

Ultimate Summer Guide: Beauty

For the 2nd part of my Ultimate Summer Guide, I spoke to celebrity make up artist Daniel Sandler who offered his advice for the perfect beauty looks this summer. The humid weather and soaring temperatures not only in the tropics but the sweltering capital means the half hour spent in the morning fine tuning the Nars palettes are wasted after spending five minutes on the underground. Recently i attended Boots' #BootsCamp event where i was lucky enough to meet Daniel and put together summer's hottest make up bag.

Here are my top picks from my summer beauty bag

Ultimate Summer Guide: Skin

Summer has certainly pushed rainy days out of the way and finally taken an overdue centre stage. The sun sizzles over London and I love relaxing with a 99 and a picnic blanket, soaking up the rays.
However, prepping for the season and maintaining the glamorous beach look isn't easy.
So as the temperatures soar, I thought it would be a good idea to create the 'Ultimate Summer Guide' with tips and interviews from top experts and my personal favourite beauty products.
Where else better to start than the part of the body that will be most exposed on our hot getaways: the skin.
Winter has dried it out, the invisible sun has left us looking like we've walked out of our coffins and those legs haven't seen the light of day since the opaque tights ripped on the way to work. A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to meet St Tropez's skin expert Jules Heptonstall and get the secrets just for you to great looking skin this summer. Check it out below.

Here are my favourite products for the skin to show off an amazing bikini body

As Jules stated in his interview a good scrub is essential. I love Rituals new Good luck scrub with thick exfoliating beads in sweet orange scent to rid of any dry areas and help reduce cellulite. It's a product I've become obsessed with and love to smooth the skin off with Laura Mercier's body souffle which as anyone who knows me, it's used everyday with a summer appropriate coconut smell. After laying in the sun for hours and realising I'm no darker than i was trekking through the snow in the winter, it's time to apply Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 week tan which assures me of a healthy glow for several days. For evening get togethers, I apply another layer for a deeper golden look and make sure I've applied a thin layer of St Tropez's gradual face tan to achieve the level of tan I want. Nars' Sheer Glow Foundation on the t-zone gets me ready for those hot summer days and nights and leaves my skin looking dewy and fresh.

Massive thanks to Jules, St Tropez and Red Consultancy for giving great advice and letting me share with everyone.

Atelier-To-Go Trunk Show

Walk down Oxford Street at any time on a Saturday and see how many seconds you can walk down the street without flustering or being overwhelmed by the amount of people playing slalom through the huge crowds.
A typical response would be shop online but with thousands of e-commerce sites propping up everywhere, it's just as annoying scouring page after page of thousands of products and still find nothing. Asos, Shopbop and My-Wardrobe have left their personality in 2010 and gone for product after brand after product.

Net-A-Porter are the only ones that seem to get it right but their price points don't go down well with the majority of peoples bank accounts.
Recently my opinion of online shopping was changed when a friend introduced me to new e-commerce site Atelier-To-Go.
Think of it as a smaller Net-A-Porter but with a curated collection of products that could rival Liberty's buying team. If a sleek, modern design and a wide range of brands wasn't enough, experts are on hand  to transform any woman from dull and boring to chic and sophisticated style queen.
Experts aren't the typical online advisers like the intern sitting behind the desk but are in the form of Fashion Editors, Elle's infamous Stacey Duguid (a.k.a I am Mademoiselle) as well as various fashion writers and advice from the Atelier team.

So when I received an invite in my inbox to shop at their Atelier trunk show I couldn't wait to pop down, meet the team but more importantly look at their curated collection of brands.
Held in the luxurious Mayfair Hotel, i was taken to the biggest suite I've ever seen, handed a glass of champagne and guided round each collection.

By far my favourite collection was Paper London...Pastel colours, structured coats, cocktail dresses and chic jackets, it epitomised style icons such as Olivia Palermo and Victoria Beckham to a T.
The Atelier team including Sasha and Jacqueline were on hand to offer advice and help with sizing.

Although i didn't purchase anything (purely to protect my bank account from becoming extinct) there were dozens of pieces that were screaming for a place in my wardrobe.

Thank you to the lovely Atelier team and The Mayfair Hotel for welcoming me warmly again to their luxurious suites. Shop the latest pieces to arrive on the site here.
