Rimmel Bloggers Suite #LFW

Taking a chilled approach to this seasons London Fashion Week, i headed out to the One Aldwych Hotel opposite Somerset House to meet the Glam Media UK team and relax.

It has been running for several seasons now and offers press attending the stressful bi annual event on the fashion calendar, a chance to let the blisters from new shoes heal and to grab food to re energise for the long weekend.

As i decided last minute not to attend any of the shows i still went along to take it all in and meet the tired but happy Glam UK team who still had a smile on by the end of a hectic day 2.
Inside the suite were nibbles and champagne which was flowing from 2pm. (In fashion week that can be considered late)

The girls from Rimmel were on hand to revitalise skin that had suffered from the heat of sitting in front of flashing lights and summer sun all day as well as nails to make those streetstyle pictures look even more perfect.

It was the first time i had ever attended anything like this before and seeing bloggers dash in and out then back in after a show gave the suite a real buzz and a chance to put blogs to faces.

Chatting to the bloggers and press that were there also opened some interesting debates on how blogs have become so popular and influential to the shows that everyone was most looking forward to. But it couldn't have been without everyone in agreement over the pain of travelling from show to show and dodging protestors, photographers, buses, slow walkers and models.

Bringing the blogging community together was a great for me to interact with people that have a common ground and to discover new blogs which are becoming popular by the post.

Massive thanks to Fiona (hope you feel better) and the rest of the Glam UK team as well as Rimmel for all the amazing goodies and pampering i was treated to.

Invitation Only Becca London Event

With suitcases, laundry bags and staring into the soul of East London, my blog posts have taken a back seat as i lodge with friends before my move to the West.
So apologies for the delay in the post.
Missing the previous event in June, i made sure i attended Invitation Only's September pop up event last week at Becca London in South Kensington.
The Victorian architecture mixed with the museums exhibiting pivotal moments in history,  makes South Kensington one of my favourite places to visit in London.
After arriving on a street filled with luxurious boutiques and designers such as Chanel, I was shown an entrance tucked away in the back of Becca to the pop up boutique.

Inside was an array of dainty porcelain china, nibbles and tea all laid out and waiting for the greedy pig in me.

After gorging on macaroons and Earl Grey tea, i took a look at the brands stocked in the boutique.
The pieces were very modern and reminiscent of Giles Deacon, Mark Fast and Celine. Knits were neatly tailored, yet billowing at the sleeves whilst accessories were sharp and detailed with studs.

I'm a total sucker for silk scarves and some were even designed in the style of scrabble which i loved and hope to get my hands on soon.
These brands aren't stocked in your typical town centre or shopping mall, especially as these crazy talented designers have recently graduated from the likes of Central St Martins and the Royal College of Art.

Taking notes from the runway shoes from February, pieces like the Fox ring were very fitting with the animal theme which is dominating the winter trends. Already seen on Rihanna, this collection is sure to be popular with the Anna Dello Russo types.

A massive thanks to everyone at Invitation Only for having me round and can't wait for the next one. For more info on the designers and stockists contact  info@invitationonlylondon.com
